Whitehouse and Tyler, Texas

Whitehouse is located in Smith County, Texas, just of Tyler, Texas. 

Tyler is the commercial and cultural capital of the East Texas region, a large area of “piney woods” and traditions more reminiscent of the South than the dry, dusty plains Texas is more famous for. The area came to prominence with the huge oil boom of the 1920’s and 1930’s, and that wealth and exuberance left an imprint on the city core still evident today.

Their extravagant events and parades attract large crowds. Stanton-Smith Elementary was nominated as a national Blue Ribbon School by Texas Education Agency.

Between April and September, the city splash park opens and is loads of fun for children and their parents. Amenities include covered pavilions, lounge chairs, restrooms, and a concession stand. Gardenview Park has picnic tables and a natural creek in a serene, peaceful setting. There is also a YMCA, Community Center, and the Whitehouse Sports Complex.
